Ballet in a Box is a philanthropic program to bring cultural exchange to underserved communities and countries.
Members of the Redondo Ballet, which is a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization, will travel across the United States and around the world to bring a beautifully decorated box filled with everything necessary to produce scenes of an original ballet production.
We will work with a dance company, dance school or any deserving children, who lack resources, who are interested in learning and culturally exchanging with Redondo Ballet. It’s a perfect fit to take members of the company to teach dancers, or interested children, portions of our original ballets. Within the box will be costumes, leotards, tights, shoes, accessories, the story, makeup and the music – every, and anything needed to put the ballet “on its feet” – all donated by Redondo Ballet.
The Directors and the members of Redondo Ballet will teach the choreography from portions of the company’s original ballets and work alongside the children, to perform the ballet for the community.
This is a fantastic opportunity for the dancers, and children, to be involved in a ballet production and to culturally exchange with members of an American ballet company. It’s also a wonderful opportunity for the members of Redondo Ballet to interact and culturally exchange with dancers and children in underserved communities and countries. All the contents of Ballet in a Box will be left with the recipients. A win-win for all involved.
